Senior Sales Manager, Interu


iov42, a leader in innovative supply chain solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SaaS Sales Manager for our traceability solution, Interu.

This role will be responsible for building strategic relationships, pitching and closing sales with SME and Enterprise organisations facing regulations which require strict due diligence and traceability to demonstrate the products they buy or sell have no risk of deforestation. Our proposition supports clients with compliance to regulations such as EUDR, UK Forest Risk Commodities and the US FOREST Act, helping them to save time, improve data accuracy and de-risk their business operations. 

This role requires experience with SaaS selling and the demonstration of closing and managing key accounts. The ideal candidate has a passion for sustainability and technology, understands the compliance challenges users face, and has experience working with global commodity supply chains of materials such as timber, paper, coffee and cocoa.

The Sales Manager will join iov42’s Business Development team and will report into the Head of Business Development. They will work alongside SDR, Customer Success and Marketing teams, as well as subject matter experts from our user markets. They will work with a sense of ownership whilst collaborating with colleagues, as well as urgency without compromising on quality.

Relationship building and empathy is at the heart of everything we do and the Sales Manager will be expected to manage multiple client relationships at the same time. They are an excellent communicator, in both written and verbal form, and can manage their own workflows.

Key responsibilities

  • Generating, managing and forecasting a sales pipeline
  • Presenting our company and demonstrating our Interu product to key buyers / end users in client meetings
  • Maintaining a high level of product, market and competitor knowledge – you will have an innate curiosity about the product and user requirements
  • Navigating and closing out complex sales cycles with timber / wood product SMEs and Enterprises, with a focus on those based in the UK and EU, sourcing from global suppliers
  • Proactively sourcing new strategic leads and new business opportunities, with the support of the sales development and marketing functions
  • Upholding the values and cultural ethos of iov42 in all dealings internally and externally
  • Researching accounts to understand need, enable effective follow up, and generate long term client relationships
  • Collaborating with team members from different departments and find strategic ways to win business
  • Building strong relationships with your prospects but also all internal stakeholders involved in the sales cycle

Required qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience in SaaS technology sales with proven success
  • Broad experience from lead generation through to closing deals of SaaS products, including developing of teams and function
  • Highly credible and articulate in face-to-face, over the phone, and email interactions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Has a confident persona and can build extraordinary customer relationships
  • Happy to travel for work meetings and conferences
  • Are technically savvy – you are able to understand precisely how the product you sell works without hand holding from technical colleagues
  • Can qualify opportunities early so no time is wasted chasing leads of no value
  • Are commercially savvy – relishing the challenge of overcoming objections with a view to getting the customer to buy provided the fit is good for both parties
  • Love negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales
  • Supply chain / compliance experience or experience of working with commodity buyers or those facing new regulations which require a change in how their business buys / sells goods. Experience working in the timber / agroforestry space is preferred but not essential
  • Preference for German / Spanish speakers, as well as fluency in English (written & spoken)
  • Proven account management experience
  • Proactive, ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Experience working with CRMs – recording, reporting, analysing pipeline, etc.
