Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

We’re a small team located throughout Europe. We are looking not just for fantastic technical skills; we are also looking for people that fit our ethos of being kind, curious and collaborative. One of the ingredients in the secret sauce that has allowed iov42 to flourish is allowing our engineers to explore and own the problem at hand, rather than expecting them to just hammer out code that is ‘good enough’. 

In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering Interu, our flagship application. You will lead efforts to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of Interu. You will leverage your expertise in automation frameworks, manual testing, and API/frontend testing to build robust processes while supporting team members. The ideal candidate has a strong focus on continuous improvement, multi-browser testing, and thrives in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using tools such as Cypress, Selenium, and Katalon to optimise testing processes.
• Conduct manual testing for exploratory and edge-case scenarios
• Create, and execute comprehensive API tests and frontend tests for web applications.
• Perform multi-browser testing to ensure compatibility across all browsers
• Actively participate in agile development processes
• Continuously improve scripts to enhance reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Support QA team members, providing guidance on testing, automation, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Proactively identify, document, and track defects and areas for improvement.
• Stay up to date with emerging QA tools, technologies, and trends to bring innovative solutions to the team.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with a strong focus on automation and manual testing and proficiency in cross browser testing, including UI and functional testing.
• Hands-on expertise in automation frameworks/tools and API testing tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Postman and Katalon.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into automated build processes.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA best practices.
• Basic programming skills (e.g., JavaScript, Python, or Java) for customising and debugging test scripts.
• You are based in the UK or Austria

Nice to have:

• Experience with performance testing tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of security testing methodologies is an advantage.
