Sales Development Representative


London, UK based preferably – with hybrid working

To support our commercial ambitions, we are seeking to grow the commercial team. Reporting into our Business Development team, you will have direct exposure to our CEO, Chief Product Officer and Head of Business Development and work closely with colleagues in Business Development and Marketing. This offers a unique chance to learn from experienced professionals with a variety of backgrounds and play a hands-on and strategic role at a really exciting moment in our business’ history.

Initially, you will be tasked with researching and prospecting the Timber sector, however your focus will evolve to include other sectors in line with our business strategy

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the CRM and undertake telephone and desk research to better understand prospect problems and who we should be targeting
  • Engage with senior level sales and marketing personas over outbound channels, raise awareness of iov42’s value proposition and secure introductory meetings
  • Carry out daily prospecting of key material to focused audiences some of whom may not have a website or LinkedIn page.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team on lead generation campaigns/projects and obtaining relevant collaterals to assist your conversations with prospects.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on your activity
  • Meet challenging targets for research and appointment setting
  • Uphold the values and cultural ethos of iov42 in all dealings internally and externally

Required qualifications

  • Excellent spoken and written English (a second language such as German or Spanish would be an advantage)
  • Experience with CRM software (FreshSales, Hubspot and SalesLoft preferred)
  • Familiar with selling to people in Supply Chain, Sustainability and Compliance would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Experience in the blockchain sector would be great but is not essential
  • Experience of working in the B2B market setting sales appointments from warm as well as cold leads
  • Experience of generating a new business pipeline and hitting call targets / success measures
  • Ability to understand and articulate a varied product set to senior executives as if you were a senior sales professional
  • Are tenacious, articulate and confident with good research skills
  • Excellent telephone manner with strong listening skills
  • Are technically savvy – and able to understand precisely how the product you sell works
  • Professionally you will be comfortable with ambiguity – we are a rapidly evolving start up so you will be exposed to many different types of opportunities, clients and sectors
